Piero Martinello, Radicalia

Radical is something "that acts in depth; that invests a problem from the essential principles". Starting from this definition, photographer Piero Martinello travelled through Italy in search of men and women who, each in their own way and for different reasons, have embraced radical choices and lifestyles. Madmen, ravers, criminals, devotees, cloistered nuns: the subjects chosen by Martinello come to life in a series of portraits in which the face becomes the key to investigating the human need to take extreme and unconventional paths of life.

After a series of international exhibitions, Radicalia's project has returned to Italy as a permanent and integral guest at Casa Corti where the portraits find their place and references with Maria Corti's collection of paintings and engravings.
